March Dinner Social

Our March dinner social will be held on Thursday, March 8, at Tropical Acres Restaurant. Our guest speaker will be Reverend Sanford Raymond Sears, newly appointed Port Chaplain at Seafarers' House at Port Everglades. Father Sears has an interesting background - prior to coming to Seafarers' House, he served as vicar at the Holy Guardian Angels Church in Lantana Florida. He is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church and worked as a hospice chaplain for six years prior to serving at Holy Guardian Angels. Father Sears is a retired Coast Guard officer and also spent two years in the Army.

Ft Lauderdale Council Dinner Meeting

Lt Derek Wallin, Commanding Officer of our adopted unit, Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale, will be the guest speaker at Fort Lauderdale Council’s dinner meeting on Wednesday, February 21 at 6PM. The meeting will be held at Coral Ridge Yacht CVlub. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to 954-522-8995 no later than February 19. Cost is $40 per person for buffet dinner. The Sea-Air-Space is the largest maritime exposition in the United States and continues as an invaluable extension of the Navy League's mission of maritime policy education and sea service support. Products that are intended to enhance and advance the quality of America’s Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or U.S.-flag Merchant Marine will be on display at the exposition. This year’s event will be held from April 9–11, 2018 at the Gaylord Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland. There is no charge to attend the exposition for Active Duty and Active Reserve U.S. Military, Retired U.S. Military and Navy League Members. For more information, visit

2018 Navy League National Convention

The 2018 Navy League National Convention will be held in Portland, Oregon from June 6-9, 2018. The convention begins in the middle of the Rose Festival and Fleet Week kicks off at the end. The content of the convention is being enhanced to appeal to a wider audience with the goal of providing support to those members who attend. Special Navy League hotel rates will be available at the Portland Marriott Waterfront. For more information, visit
